Discovered thousands of years ago, the Neem tree is an evergreen, native to India and the medicinal healing properties have been used dating as far back as 4000 B.C. The timeless healing properties have been passed from generation to generation. Supported by centuries of use, and modern science, Neem is used to treat many skin conditions. Hundreds of studies in laboratories around the world have documented its efficacy in helping to treat diverse disorders. Once exclusive to the Eastern world, the Western world has experienced and embraced the natural qualities of Neem. The healing properties of Neem are spoken about in some of the world’s oldest books. The Sanskrit word for Neem was “Nimba,” which means “good health.” The Vedas called Neem “Sarva roga nivarini”, which means “one that cures all ailments and ills”. (Panacea). It has also been referenced as “Divine Tree”, Life-Giving Tree”, “Nature’s Drugstore” and “Village Pharmacy”. Yes, raw pure neem oil stinks. But the components that give off the offensive sulfurous smell are the ingredients (Salannin compound) that make neem oil so effective. Which Neem Oil To Use? Know the difference between Native Neem 100% pure Neem oil and commercial Neem oil for garden use. Commercial Neem oil is emulsified to make it water-soluble for use in the home garden. We have both oils available. For personal and health care purposes we recommend Native Neem Organic Certified 100% Pure Neem Oil and for your home garden, use Native Neem Organic Certified Emulsified Neem Oil is also known as Native Neem Neem Oil Insecticide. Healing Benefits Of Neem When researchers first began looking at Neem about 50 years ago, they carefully detailed the biological activities of its various parts. That literature, unfortunately, is not available except in specialized medical libraries. Current reports generally note that Neem is recognized as one of a long list of “antis” including… Anti-inflammatory, anti-arthritic, anti-pyretic (fever), Anti-gastric (ulcer), anti-fungal, antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-tumor, anti-histamine, anti-complement (similar to antioxidant), anti-carcinogenic and anti-anxiety. Antioxidants In Neem One of the hottest topics in the natural foods industry today is antioxidants, probably because they play a critical role in preventing the damage that plays a significant role in initiating chronic degenerative diseases like Atherosclerosis, Diabetes, Heart disease, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s as well as speeding up the plain old (pun intended!) process of aging. Oxidative stress is a natural process that occurs as cells produce energy. Free radicals, a by-product of this process, damage cells (including DNA) and tissue. The problem occurs when the body’s resources for fighting these free radicals or repairing the damage they cause aren’t adequate. Antioxidants are in many foods, and many of the health benefits of foods like blueberries, broccoli, and cranberries are directly related to their antioxidant levels. The ORAC test (oxygen radical absorbance capacity), shows that all forms of Neem are extraordinarily high in antioxidants, and far higher than foods on the high-antioxidant lists. Along with its immune-boosting properties and high antioxidant levels, this may help to explain why neem is known around the world as “The Village Pharmacy.” 100% PURE NEEM OIL CAN EASILY SOLIDIFY EVEN AT LOW ROOM TEMPERATURES. SHOULD THIS HAPPEN, PUT THE BOTTLE IN WARM WATER (BELOW 95 DEGREES F) TO LIQUIFY. DO NOT PLACE IN BOILING WATER, AS THIS MAY REDUCE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE OIL. Other Benefits: Neem has lots of health benefits; it can magically heal sunburns, cuts, and wounds. A bottle of neem oil can be very beneficial for your pet’s first aid kit. A quick topical application of neem oil on the affected area soothes and heals the burn and small wounds effectively. Any pet experiencing excessive shedding, itchy skin or allergies can also benefit enormously from the regular bath with our neem shampoo, which is gentle enough for everyday use. Your dog will become repellent to the stingers when the neem is absorbed into the blood through their skin. Many people dislike the extreme pungent garlicky smell of pure neem oil but it plays an essential part in keeping away a wide range of insects including Mosquitos, so please don't be put off with the smell instead recognize all its benefits.
